1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the UnScene application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

UnScene is a voluntary focus application that allows users to temporarily pause certain device functionality during live events. The App uses Apple's Screen Time APIs to manage focus settings based on event-defined policies.

Key principles of the service:

• Voluntary: All focus settings are user-activated. You must explicitly consent before any settings are applied.
• Temporary: Focus sessions automatically end based on time, location, or other conditions defined in the event policy.
• Safe: Emergency calls and essential phone functions always work. You can end any session immediately.

3. User Responsibilities

By using the App, you agree to:

• Only activate focus sessions on devices you own or have authorization to manage
• Review event policies before consenting to focus settings
• Not use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract the source code
• Not circumvent security measures or manipulate the consent attestation system

4. Consent and Focus Settings

Before any focus settings are applied, you will be presented with a clear description of what will be paused and how the session will end. You must provide explicit, informed consent through the App's consent interface.

You may end any focus session at any time using the Exit Now feature. Exit Now is always available and requires no explanation.

5. Emergency Access

The App never blocks emergency communications. Phone calls, including calls to emergency services (911), are always available. This is guaranteed by Apple's Screen Time framework and cannot be overridden by the App.

6. Venue Policies

Hosts create event policies that define focus settings and under what conditions sessions end. We provide the technology platform but do not control individual event policies. Each host is responsible for the reasonableness and legality of their own policy settings.

You should review event policies before consenting. If an event policy seems unreasonable or inappropriate, do not consent to the focus settings.

7. Intellectual Property

The App and its underlying technology are protected by intellectual property laws, including patent applications. All rights, title, and interest in and to the App remain with UnScene.

8. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

We are not responsible for:

• Venue policies or venue conduct
• Device behavior resulting from iOS updates or changes to Apple APIs
• Connectivity issues affecting geofence or signal-based unlocking
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, UnScene's total liability for any claims arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Uninstalling the App will clear all local data and end any active focus sessions managed by the App.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App if you violate these Terms.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. We will notify you of material changes through in-app notification or by updating the "Last updated" date.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of [Your State], without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
